The Chinese puzzle ball, believed to bring good luck to its owner, is intricately decorated with symbolic figures and carved into the shape of an eternal circle. Historically, it was used in the Imperial Court to signify the wealth and status of the Emperor. The outermost sphere houses several smaller, freely moving balls, each nested within the other. Traditionally, the puzzle ball is carved from a single piece of stone on a lathe, starting with the innermost sphere.
